The position includes provision of mental health services to Augusta University students including individual, group, and couples counseling, referrals to community and campus resources, and providing prevention work via outreach.

This position reports to the Dean of Students and works under the umbrella of Student Affairs. Responsibilities include providing counseling services to the University community and providing educational opportunities for the campus on issues of mental health. The ultimate aim of this position is to enhance student success by providing direct clinical services for students, including personal counseling, crisis intervention, assessment and referral, as well as educational and prevention programming.
Director of Student Counseling and Psychological Services (SCAPS) is responsible for the oversight of the center and will advocate for and enable the optimal provision of high quality mental health programs and services to a diverse population of nearly 9,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
This position provides psychological and counseling services of a remedial, preventive, and developmental nature through
assessment and consultation contacts with students – individually and in groups with special emphasis in suicide
prevention. Doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology is required.
This position is responsible for direct counseling services to SCAD students at the Savannah, GA campus. This position also requires providing clinical supervision within the office for interns, and consultation services for faculty and parents regarding student needs. On-call shifts are required.
